Pelosi's Taiwan visit and worry for the World
US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi has finally reached Taiwan. For some days, China had warned The USA about this possible visit of Pelosi. A large number of weapons were deployed in and around the Taiwan Strait. Chinese warplanes had encroached on Taiwan's airspace. Despite all this pressure, Pelosi's plane landed in Taipei from Malaysia. China's Foreign Ministry had threatened that Pelosi's visit would have serious political consequences. Still, the visit by a representative of the USA is a very different aspect of the relationship between the USA and China, as well as for the future of the Cold War.
